Creating these little works of art was calming and joyful.
As a lover of nature and all things about the seasons. I have taken the time to use colors from the seasons to inspire the pallet of these miniature works of art. Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall are all shown in the brilliant colors that are displayed. The bright reds and oranges bring a sense of heat and warmth to any space. Reminding us of the sun and to move as the colors create a mood of being active and on the move. The deep and rich greens allow for one to see nature and connect with the outside world. This inherently puts me back at my core truth which grounds me and offers stability.
Amazing curtains sourced for this client to match the décor of the home. Bringing the curtains to the top of the wall brings the eyes up. The space in the room may have seemed limited but with the length of the curtains the space is a little more open. When clients have shorter ceiling heights this is a trick for opening up the space. Rounded full coverage rods were selected for more privacy and full window coverage to increase the flow from room to room within the home.
For this client blackout curtains were installed as they requested to have a better sleeping experience while the day light stays out. As this is a bedroom the client wanted to make the home a bit warmer and connected to nature. Here the window is flanked with custom wall art and covered with deep curtains. These curtains are hung above the window at 5 inches and keep the room dark in the day time as requested.
Along with installing new curtains, such as drilling for rods and hanging the curtains. Commissioned wall art was installed to complete the flow of the home.
Wall art curated from Turnup Green Creative Reuse materials. The beautiful colors and textures are reflections of the forest which beings peace to those who glaze upon the work of art. Creating this work of art was so much fun. It took days but the outcome is gorgeous. I was inspired by the textures from the upholstery fabrics with the impression of bark from a tree. THis truly incorporates nature and bringing it all together. The blues are reflective of the deep and vast sky.
Fabric swatches and acrylic paints are paired together to create the texture of bark and the smoothness of water is reflected by velvet blues and a glossy finish. I love the silver in this work of art.
Tip for hanging curtains and rods. Measure from the center of the grommet to the floor at the length you want the curtains to hang. Be sure to include the top few inches of the curtain to be above the window. Also, attaching the rods on the outside of the window frame by at least 4-6 inches on either side to be sure that the curtains can be pulled back from the face of the window. You can use this same 4-6 inch tip for the top of the window when hanging the curtain rod.
